da imperador bet: Leeds United have kicked back into gear in recent weeks.
da esport bet: Marcelo Bielsa’s side were embarrassed in successive matches, losing 4-1 to both Leicester City and Crystal Palace, but they have responded immensely, drawing to Arsenal – a game they should have won – and defeating Everton – a game they should have won by a larger margin.
Indeed, the Yorkshire giants have recorded a whopping 48 shots across their last two outings. They are also the Premier League’s most creative side, as per The Athletic’s Phil Hay.
Some of Leeds’ fringe players are soon going to find it hard to break into the squad, especially in the attack. And that’s especially the case for Tyler Roberts, who has started just two of ten top-flight matches this term. He has not even played more than 56 minutes in any outing either.
As a result, he was part of United’s U23 squad for their recent win over West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League 2. In a quick 45 minutes of action, he scored one goal as they romped to a 2-1 victory.
The Welsh international, who has claimed seven caps since his debut in 2018, is entering the final 18 months of his contract at Elland Road, so a decision on his future needs to be made sooner rather than later.
And as an outcast on £47k-per-week, which is reportedly more than first-choice starters Illan Meslier, Luke Ayling, Stuart Dallas, Pablo Hernandez and Mateusz Klich, he ought to be doing a lot more on the pitch to justify such a wage.
You could argue that he’s been ransacking Andrea Radrizzani dry. Therefore, it could be wise to cash in on him in the upcoming transfer window.
Roberts has never truly been a hit in Yorkshire having provided just seven goals and seven assists in 61 appearances, per Transfermarkt, which means he only contributes as to a goal once every 4.4 matches.
Speaking to Football Insider last month, renowned pundit and former Leeds pundit, Noel Whelan, has urged the club to move on from Roberts, he said:
“Right now we are looking at a lad that is very low on confidence and very low on belief in his own ability. He is struggling to find form and maybe it is a step too far for him right now, the Premier League.”
Time is running out for the Welsh attacker to prove otherwise. It may be best for all involved if they went separate ways in 2021.
AND in other news, Orta’s top JANUARY priority should be to hand Bielsa fave who “every club needs” fresh terms…
