da lvbet: As reported by The Daily Mail, Celtic interested in signing Chelsea youngster Charly Musonda this summer.
What’s the story?
da dobrowin: Brendan Rodgers has a done a great job this season of allowing young talent to shine at Celtic with Moussa Dembele, Patrick Roberts and Kieran Tierney all having exceptional campaigns.
Now he’s looking for more young talent to propel the Hoops forward both domestically and in European competition.
The Daily Mail reckon the Hoops are in for young Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda, a 20 year old who is set to be loaned out again after failing to break into Antonio Conte’s first team.
Who is he?
Musonda is a Belgian U21 international who appears to have a bright future in the game. He’s been at Stamford Bridge since the age of 16, joining from Anderlecht in his homeland.
He spent the second half of last season and the first half of this season on loan at La Liga side Real Betis, making 24 appearances for the Spanish side.
Upon his return in January, Conte decided against loaning him out but he has yet to makes his debut for the Blues.
An attacking midfielder, currently valued at £4.25m according to Transfermarkt, he could be a potential replacement for Patrick Roberts who is set to head back to parent club Manchester City at the end of the season.
Representing Belgium at five age groups and gaining 12 caps at U21 level, it’s a fair bet he’ll be a future Belgian international.
If Brendan Rodgers can harness his talent and get the best out of him then more first team football could do both the player and Chelsea the world of good, especially if he gets minutes in the UEFA Champions League.
