Many woke up to the news that the club were heavily pursuing a reunion with former superstar Gareth Bale, and further fuel was added to the fire when it was revealed that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane had left him out of their upcoming matchday squad.
However, Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold has been quick to play down such reports, in a Q&A for Football London, he said:
“Daniel Levy is currently in his office at Hotspur Way in Enfield, attempting to negotiate transfer deals. We also need to forget the Bale stuff. I’ve even seen some bizarre things about tracking planes which are actually heading to Germany this afternoon. Spurs, Zidane and Bale’s agent have all rubbished it today, his agent rather vociferously.”

Now that speculation suggesting Daniel Levy was in Spain trying to achieve the unimaginable has been rebutted, it appears as if he is working hard to try and find that striker Jose Mourinho is after.
Earlier reports from Gold stated that they were now looking at other options having missed out on an array of suggested targets.
Calling all transfer experts! How much did each of these Deadline Day signings cost?
Although, they face a major race against time to secure a new man given that there are less than five hours remaining in the window.
This is sure to go right down to the wire, but at least Levy is “attempting” to negotiate deals.
