da bwin: Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has insisted that he is learning to adapt as a footballer as he bids to finally overcome his injury problems.
da betsul: Wilshere broke into the Arsenal first team at the age of 16, and has made more than 160 appearances for the Gunners since debuting during the 2008-09 campaign.
The midfielder was sent on loan to Bournemouth last season after being deemed surplus to requirements by head coach Arsene Wenger, and it had been thought that he would leave the Emirates Stadium during the recent summer transfer window.
Wilshere stayed at Arsenal, however, and has made three first-team appearances this season after recovering from injury.
The 25-year-old has admitted that he took things for granted as a young player, but has insisted that he is adapting his game through experience.
Wilshere told Arsenal Player:
“When I first broke into the first team, even looking back when I was 16, you take things for granted. I was training every day and when you’re a 16-year-old, you can do that.
“As you get older your body changes, you pick up injuries, you have to be more careful with certain situations and it makes you stronger as well. I’ve always loved playing football and that’s what I wanted to do.
“Of course there’s been times when it’s been tough, when you’re injured and you wake up in the morning, you think ‘Oh I’ve got to go to training, all the other lads are training, you’ve got to go to the gym’. That makes you stronger and it makes you appreciate it more and try and do everything you can to keep fit and keep on the pitch.”
Wilshere’s current Arsenal deal will expire at the end of this season, but it is understood that his form in recent weeks will lead to a fresh contract.
The Gunners will return to Premier League action with a trip to Watford on Saturday afternoon.
