The home side produced a committed, all-action performance that made them more than worthy of the three points they won, which subsequently took them above their bitter rivals in the Premier League table.

In the second half especially, the Gunners were able to nullify Tottenham’s attacking threat. Emery’s three centre-backs, Shkodran Mustafi, Rob Holding and Sokratis, expertly ensured that the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli couldn’t inspire a Spurs comeback.
The 6ft 1in ace Sokratis, in particular, put in a magnificent display. The 30-year-old summer signing from Borussia Dortmund was strong and authoritative throughout, and also impressed with his distribution which allowed Arsenal to build attacking moves up from the back.
